This is a fun and interesting piece. Part of the Egyptian series. At first glance it looks to be 1950s, but it’s actually 1970s. Besides the scarab casting being featured in the book, do you see the other clue that helps date this piece?
The main clue is the hook. It is crafted from half-round brass wire and is marked only NAPIER without a copyright symbol. The half-round wire used in the 1970s was thinner than the half-round wire used during the 1950s. Additionally, the half-round wire of the 1950s was wider and at times included the copyright mark.
